“The repair works were completed last night (Tue),” it said.

The hospital explained that the metal cover is used to cover the internal cable panel inside the track, adding that patient services were not affected.

The hospital said it is investigating the cause of the incident and noted a contractor installed a sensor on the automatic door concerns in March.

As a precautionary measure, the hospital will today (Wed) conduct inspections of all automatic doors with the sensor recently installed by the same contractor. The incident did not involve the structural safety of the building, the hospital also said.

The hospital has reported the incident to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
