The gifts consisted of a small selection box per child, containing four to five items for children aged 5-12, specifically Cadburys Small chocolates.

The council explained that it followed its Procurement Policy, which involved seeking quotations from three suppliers – one from within the borough and two from outside. Unfortunately, no quotations were received from local suppliers, while a single quotation was received from a supplier located outside the borough.

The council’s “Shop, Eat, Enjoy Local” campaign promotes the message of supporting local businesses throughout the borough.
