The batteries caught fire in a barn on March 3. They were moved to bins so the batteries could burn themselves out, which took days.
The batteries remain in the bins so that if they would catch fire again, they would not damage any property.
The state Department of Environmental Protection said it continues to work with the owner. Once arrangements are made with a disposal company, the waste will be secured on-site and disposed of properly.
