Polished diamond prices continued to go down in July “as geopolitical uncertainties continued to cast a dark shadow over the diamond market”, according to the IDEX Polished Price Index, published by IDEX Online.
The Index fell 2.57% in July, and has been losing an average of 1.8% a month over the last year. The Index has been dropping since March of 2022, suffering its biggest monthly fall in June (3.04%). Surface Grinding Wheel

Month-on-month, prices fell 2.9% during July, “their biggest drop of the current decline.” Year-on-year prices for July fell 19.9%. Polished month-on-month prices fell for all sizes, with the price of 0.5-carats falling the most sharply (down 4.6%). Year-on-year, all goods up to 2.0-carats are “now down at least 20% on last year’s prices.”
