Lauffer has developed the S-line servo-hydraulic press. At the heart of the system is a variable-distortion pump with variable-speed servomotor electric drive. The system almost completely dispenses with the valve technology required in conventional hydraulics, which reduces throttle losses and thus helps increase energy efficiency. Cooling capacity also is reduced considerably.
The system operates on significantly reduced oil volume, which helps conserve both ecological and monetary resources. Industrial Machinery

The press offers precise positioning and precise repeatability of the slide and die cushion. The forming process can be monitored and analyzed stroke by stroke so that deviations from forming forces can be identified quickly and reliably.
For deep-drawing applications, the press offers energy recuperation during the drawing stroke. The required counterholding force of the sheet metal holder is almost completely converted back into electrical energy and fed directly to the main drive via the intermediate circuit. Thus, depending on the drawing stroke, up to 35% electrical energy can be saved, the company reports.
