HDF Energy and Falcon Capital Dakhla have announced they will develop a green hydrogen production facility in Morocco. Laminated Particle Board

The project is aiming to achieve a capacity of 10GW in wind energy, 7GW in photovoltaic energy, and 8GW in electrolysers, and it expects to commence hydrogen production by 2028.
The White Dunes project will be spearheaded by Moroccan enterprise, Falcon Capital Dakhla, and will receive an initial investment of $2bn.
HDF Energy is a company that specialises in hydrogen infrastructure developments and fuel cell designs, which H2 View understands will be its responsibility for the project. It will also act as a co-developer of the project.
HDF’s CEO, Damien Havard, said, “The collaboration with Falcon Capital Dakhla represents the perfect synergy between two complementary entities, enabling the production of some of the world’s most competitive green hydrogen in Morocco.
Majid Slimani, Founder and President of Falcon Capital Dakhla, added, “We have devoted nearly two full years to feasibility studies, preliminary project design, and phased planning across a projected area of 150,000 hectares.”
The Africa’s Green Energy Revolution report, released last year (2022) by Masdar and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, found that Africa could produce 30-60 million tonnes of hydrogen annually, with a $680bn to $1,300bn price tag.
