The feeling of tentatively stepping out of a dew-damp sleeping bag into daybreak, then stretching a spine like a twisted slinky is all-too-familiar for anyone who has ever slept in a tent on uneven ground. That’s why New Zealander, Jessica Walsh created the Lotus Belle Tent, so luxury wouldn’t have to be a necessary sacrifice for those drawn to unsoiled landscapes or the raw energy of a summer festival. According to Walsh, “the world is a giant festival, just waiting to happen.” It’s not only a slogan, but an ethos by which she lives her life. She has spent the past years frequenting festivals like Burning Man, spreading the nomadic wonders of the Lotus Belle tent to free-spirits across the globe.

The tents measure between 13ft and 16 ft in diameter and are 9 feet tall, leaving plenty of open space. The design used the same waterproof fabric kayaks are made from, staying dry and cozy even under the insolent winter rainfall of the Pacific Northwest. It also comes equipped with an additional side burner hole which can be used for the flue of a fireplace in temperate climates or to ventilate an air-conditioning unit in the consuming heat of the desert.

While the tent expands so large that you could fit a queen-sized bed in it and still have room for kitchenette and activities, it collapses small enough to fit inside a normal sized car. A single person can erect the tent in just 45 minutes.
