EH&S is offering a Low Voltage Electrical Safety training course for University personnel who face a risk of electrical shock because they work closely with (or near) exposed electrical circuits operating at 50 - 600 volts.
The Low Voltage Electrical Safety course is taught by a licensed instructor who focuses on the most practical and safe ways to troubleshoot equipment to create an electrically safe working condition in conjunction with lockout/tagout. The course is intended for electricians, electrical and electronic engineers and technicians, industrial machine operators, mechanics, material handling operators, painters, riggers, welders, and researchers. It is currently offered as a full-day classroom (in-person) course at the UW Facilities Training Center on the Seattle campus. Additional locations at UW Tacoma and UW Medical Center-Montlake will be added. Check the course registration page for a list of upcoming dates. Cost is $224 per person.
