ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The City of Albuquerque is about to bring in some new entertainment to Balloon Fiesta Park. The giant inflatable water slides and inflatable obstacle course will be ready by summer vacation.

“I want to know when it is so I can sign up,” said Rebecca Porter.

“These water slides do not exist in the state of New Mexico,” said Dean Strober.

Dean Strober is in charge of one of the inflatable attractions called Princess and Pirate Festival that is coming to the Duke City in August.

“We are bringing out some of the world’s largest, certified by Guinness book of world records, largest inflatable water slides,” said Strober.

Strober says some of the 20 slides at the event will be 70-feet-tall and more than 200-feet-long.

“You woosh and then ahh and then woosh again,” he said.

The Insane Inflatable 5K will be at Balloon Fiesta Park in June.

“I think I will laugh and fall down a lot,” said Porter.

The race boasts that it’s the wildest obstacle run in the world made up with topsy turvey obstacles like the Bumpin’ Bumpin’, Jump Around and Pure Misery.

“That would be a good change to have something like that come to Albuquerque I think, so come on insane,” said Ben Feerer.

“It’s great because it brings in like they say heads and beds,” said Balloon Fiesta Park Program and Facility Manager Susan Rice.

The Insane Inflatable 5K is about $70. It will take place June 7.

The Princess and Pirate Festival which includes the giant inflatable water slides is $10 a day. It will take place August 29 and 30.
